When Good Vending Machines Go Bad

vendingDavid Wagstaff, Dean of Students, will be in charge of fixing or replacing the currently inoperative vending machines in Northwest Academy’s main building.

Students have complained about functionality issues and incorrect prices displayed on the drink and snack machines.

“The drink vending machine hasn’t been working for a long time,” Emerald Seale, a junior said. “I just really want some Powerade.”

Wagstaff sympathizes with the students, as he has also been a victim of the snack machine.

“I’ve lost at least five dollars trying to get Goldfish,” Wagstaff said.

The main reason why the insufficient vending machines are only now being attended to, is the size of the main building’s doors.

“We have very small doors,” Wagstaff said. “Finding a vending machine small enough to fit through those doors is difficult.”

Many of the students were glad to hear the vending machines will soon be functional again.

“I use the snack vending machine a lot,” Avery Anderson, a freshman, said. “Its pretty annoying to not really know how much each item costs.”

While many students responded with excitement when hearing the vendors were being replaced, an equal amount expressed indifference.

“I would never use the vending machine unless I was absolutely starving,” Lucianna Edenlord, a freshman, said. “I didn’t even notice the prices were wrong.”

Others have complained about the amount of money they fear they would waste on the new vending machines.

“I wouldn’t use the vending machine because if I did I would [use it until I had] no money left,” Ellie Camp, a sophomore, said.

While it is currently unclear when the new vending machine will arrive, Northwest Academy are currently contacting their supplier.
