Vamp Out At the Halloween Dance
Get out your top hats and your best suits because a costume party is being held the evening before Halloween at the Plaza Building. Drinks, food and dancing are all guaranteed. Proceeds from the dance will fund sewing materials and fabrics for the costume class.
The theme for the dance is the Roaring ‘20s, although other costumes will be accepted. However, if students arrive without a costume, they will be denied entry. The dance is for high-schoolers only.
The Arts after Hours costume class is spearheading this fundraiser with Nate Johnson and Molly Meier, both seniors, and Elle Biesemeyer, a sophomore, coordinating the event.
“We can always use extra money,” Johnson said. “And we thought the best way to get this money is from something that would be fun and unique.”
So far, tickets have been selling fast, with favorable feedback from students.
“I’m always a positive supporter of the theater program and if we could afford more elaborate costumes, the shows would be even better,” Pearce Hyatt, a sophomore, said.
In addition to the party, a raffle will be held, all of the prizes involving coupons to ice cream shops, as well as a dozen cupcakes.
“The hope is that if this is a successful event, we can make it an annual thing, and be able to afford more elaborate costumes in the future,” Biesemeyer said.
The party will be held in Room P207, temporarily called the “Black Cat Club.”
Raffle tickets are $2 for one ticket, and $5 for three.
The dance is being held from 7-9:30 PM.
