Named for our school mascot, that feisty downtown bird, the Angry Pigeon Gallery is Northwest Academy’s storefront exhibition and performance space in downtown Portland. The Pigeon features shows by students, faculty, alumni, and established artists, writers, and performers. Commission proceeds fund the operation of the gallery. The Angry Pigeon also hosts our visiting author series and mixed media literary events produced by English/Humanities and thesis teacher Paul Martone’s Late Night Library. The Angry Pigeon is run by and for the Northwest Academy community by Stuart Larsen ’10 as the curator and Northwest Academy senior Amira Al-Hatlani ’14 as the assistant curator. Dean of Students David Wagstaff chairs the Pigeon Board, which also includes Vicki Hastings and Michael Murphy.
